Hi all Does anyone know what happened to the other Jovi project? To quote Obie "Im really excited to be working on two Very Special Bon Jovi projects as we speak" May 2014 One of them was New Jersey special edition, the second I was hoping would be Hammersmith Live but I haven't heard anymore

Wasn't the other project this Vinyl release of 4 or 5 "rare" live songs (which had been B-sides back in the day any way)?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 25th anniversary Blaze something. There has got to be some outtakes saved from the demo process.

Crush is now 15 years... HAND is now 10... The Bon Jovi camp could easily put together something for both. And even though they both won't make money, it would still be nice to give something back to the die hards.

Not making any money + giving something back to the diehards is a combination that's not available in the Jovi universe, unfortunately.

People that have access to those people have said that it was not even considered. Personally if I could have that in perfect soundboard I would die happy LOL. If I could have the entire thing in video I would be even happier. It has always been my "holy grail"

I'm sure it's a collective decision but Obie is in touch with the fans the most. The record company is clueless and Jon is even more clueless. Enough people begged Obie for the Jersey demos which we did eventually get. Coincidence? I don't think so.

They should put Hammersmith Odeon Live out as an independent release, do it digitally, sell it on bonjovi.com and see what the response is like, if it works well it might lead to other classic shows being put out. Seems strange that Bruce has been doing this for a while and they haven't seen the potential in archive recordings or even current shows to own.

But the difference is that Bruce has more or less kept the same level when it comes to the quality of the live shows. Jon probably knows what light it might shine on their current state as a live act when rather casual fans get to see how insanely good they used to be in the 80's/90's. Furthermore I have gotten the feeling over the years that Jon's sometimes ashamed of his past (at least of the 80's as they were at that time the incarnation of hair metal) and would rather see that chapter of the band buried than having fans go back and rediscover it.

I frankly think that is exactly the motivation. Jon either thinks that the 80s & 90s music sucks and nobody wants it OR as you said, he doesn't want the comparison with his younger self (when he was so damn good). However - we did just get the New Jersey demos which is definitely 80s music so maybe.......just maybe.......there is a bit of a chance for Hammersmith in the future. I can dream can't I?
