There's a short article on ultimateclassicrock.com regarding the anniversary of CRUSH: linkIt's amazing to think that it's been 15 years since we got the 'new'-Bon Jovi. I still think that Crush is an album that got the 'pop-rock' style totally spot-on - whereas WAN clearly didn't. What are your memories of, or opinions on CRUSH?

IML aside, I think it sucks. Two Story Town? Just Older? Say It Isn't So? Next 100 Years?

I think there are a lot of great songs on Crush. Mystery Train is one of my all time favorites.

Neurotica is such a strange Bon Jovi song, I LOVE the intro and opening verse to it! If I Could Make A Living Out Of Loving You is another CRUSH bonus track that I think is excellent. I would have loved to have seen the band during those eras, but unfortunately I would have been too young At least the Australian leg of The Circle Tour was pretty phenomenal!

It's my life blew me away but for me it's the start of jovi becoming patchy. Say it isn't so followed by the dreadful ballad makes the album really dip. It's ok in middle (except she's a mystery which is poor) but finishes really strongly. Especially if you have Neurotica.

I like Crush. Not a fan of Save the World and She's a Mystery, but the rest of it I still enjoy.

I'm not a huge fan of the Crush / Bounce (/Aftermath) Ebin production style. I remember when Crush came out, I listened to it to death (because that's what I did with every album prior to that point) and had a hard time getting into it. There was that certain something missing. IML is great and then Thank You / Say It Isn't So are pretty good too but then there is just a slow decline after.

I very rarely listen to any post 90's Bon Jovi albums. None of them have really stuck with me except for the box set which has some awesome stuff on it. I'm listening to Crush right now for the first time in years and even though it's very poppy sounding album it still sounds half decent. But not one of my favourites.I don't really miss any songs played live (not even IML), but I would not mind hearing Just Older or Two Story Town. I remember some of the bonus songs on the singles from this era being quite decent... Should probably dig them out too.

I have everything in order from start to finish including b-sides, rarities, live material, covers, bootlegs, etc.

Nah, I'm old school and sometimes actually want to be physically in touch with my record collection. But I should do that anyway to be able to listen to them on the go. In fact, I used to have the rarities somewhere on my computer (and in my mobile) but I seem to have lost them over the years...

In fact, I used to have the rarities somewhere on my computer (and in my mobile) but I seem to have lost them over the years... I've collected so much stuff throughout many years and also spent a great deal of time editing tracks but would never listen to any of it because it's such a hassle. Like you said "dig it out"... It's a time consuming process to rip and organize your entire collection but once your done, it's so nice to finally enjoy it all... Just get a high GB SDCard, organize it all with folders, and pop it into your phone. However, it is a constant work in progress... I'm old school so it's amazing to think that I could fit book cases worth of music onto a tiny little chip.

Crush is still the best post-2000 album for me. It was a well-done pop rock album, mostly because it was fun and didn't include political themes. Just Older, Two Story Town, Mystery Train and Next 100 Years are still strong songs that hold up well. However, Crush was also the beginning of the band's decline in terms of song quality. It was the first album for me that included more than one clunker: Save the World, She's a Mystery, I Got the Girl. The songs I skip are It's My Life and Captain Crash & the Beauty Queen from Mars. They have been overplayed and didn't age well in my opinion.
