Well, let's make this thread a place to show off your guitars, your effects, your equipment. Let's talk shop about everything that is related to guitar! I started playing guitar at the old age of 18. My very first guitar was a Squier Stratocaster. But like Matthias Jabs once said in an interview, guitarist must have some kind of a gene-defect: They never have enough guitars. And he's right! Since I started to play 9 years ago I grew a collection I'm very proud of: 1. Squier Stratocaster in sunburst, S-S-S pick-ups 2. ESP LTD-SA2 Richie Sambora Signature 3. Ovation CDX 44 6-string acoustic 4. Epiphone Standard Les Paul in honeyburst 5. Fender Standard Stratocaster in arctic white with H-S-S pick-ups and a Floyd Rose 6. Fender New Standard Telecaster in sunburst and S-S pick-ups 7. Fender Standard Stratocaster in cherry burst with H-S-S pick-ups and a Floyd Rose 8. another ESP LTD-SA2 Richie Sambora signature, I got a custom made black pickguard and headstock, so this guitar is all in black like Richie used several times during the The Circle tour (here for instance: youtube.com/watch?v=N_JVMWtcjdw) 9. Kramer Baretta Black Special 10. Brian May's Red Special 11. Ovation Applause Balladeer 12-string acoustic I once owned a '67 Epiphone Flying V in antique ivory. That was a beautiful guitar but I sold it because I wasn't happy with its sound and so rarely played it. Well, that should be enough to begin with now it's up to you, folks!

I also started fairly late as I was around 16 or 17 years old. Sambora has always been a big inspiration to me as a guitar player although I don't play like him... I've had a lot of different guitars, amps and effects during the years. Some I regret selling, but I'm not rich nor have a lot of room for my equipment so I usually need to get rid of something in order to get some new stuff... Anyway, here's my current set. Luckily I have avoided "GAS" for a long time now so most of these I've had for years (some well over 10 years). Guitars: - Amfisound Les Paul (handmade guitar built to my specs) - Amfisound "Jimi Hendrix" Stratocaster (also handmade, you can see this partially in my profile pic) - Japanese Fender Telecaster '52 reissue (modified by Amfisound) - Gibson Explorer (early 80's, similar to what Matthias Jabs was using back then) - Ibanez bass - Martin SWDGT acoustic - Yamaha electroacoustic - Yamaha nylon string - Gretsch G5700 lap steel Amps: - Vox AC30HW2X (this is the point-to-point handwired model with blue alnico speakers) - Fender Pro Jr. (tweed model fitted with alnico speaker) - Peavey bass amp Effects: Budda Wah, HomeBrew Electronics Big D, HomeBrew Electronics Germania44 Treblebooster, Catalinbread Formula No. 5, Ibanez AD-9, Ibanez FL-301 DX, Ibanez TS-9, MXR Phase 90, TC Electronic SCF Chorus+, Morley Wah Volume, Carl Martin Classic Opto-Compressor I'd really like to get the Fender Sambora Strat (the original made in USA model). Also the early 90's model would do. The ESP/LTD doesn't really do it to me... Sorry.

I don't really collect guitars, but I have gathered a few over the years... Currently I have - Fender Tele '52 reissue (2010) - Martin D-1GT -acoustic with B-band mics (2012) - Ibanez AR50 (January (A) 1981) - Eko Manta (no idea, but it's old) - Squier Heavy Metal Strat, ("Young Chang", Korea, late 80's/early 90s, possibly 1989) - Epiphone 12-string PR350-12E (1995?) - Ovation CC 057 - Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Standard - Ibanez SR 300 DX bass I don't really own any good amps at the moment, I have Laney Linebacker, Blackstar HT-5 with 4x8 cab and a Roland MicroCube. I usually play straight into whatever I'm using to record, or via my Digitech RP-355 straight into the PA. If someone has a good tube stack, I might borrow that. I'm not really into effects pedals, I have a few tuners, BOSS OS-2, BOSS CE-5, some delay, BSIAB home made distortion, and Digitech Vocalist Live 3 for acoustic shows. I should really get a few Strats, with both maple and rosewood necks. And something like a Les Paul, even though I don't really like playing them. Ice

The amp I use is only the second amp in all those years. It's a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 30-R. It does a good job for home-playing. Right now I'm looking for a Marshall tube amplifier. But this stuff will get paid, too... I'm not that much of a effect guy either. Most of my pedals are overdrive/distortion pedals just for the reason that I wanna change the level with one single hit and not rearrange everything. So I use a T-Rex Dr. Swamp and T-Rex Mudhoney II, I'm pretty satisfied with them. Furthermore a T-Rex Twin Boost which also does a great job. I also have the Vox Satcchurator, the Joe Satriani distortion pedal. This was the pedal my guitar teacher had for his students, it sounded great during the lessons but at home with my equipment I don't really get the sound I like. So I'm thinking about selling it maybe someday. Ice, I really recommend getting a Strat! Wonderful guitars! My white one has a rosewood fretboard, the cherry burst a maple fretboard. Those guitars are really my choice number one. The other ones are nice ones, too. But the Strats have a flexibility in their sound you don't find anywhere else. You can really use them for everything. I have a T-Rex Phaser, great sound but so far I'm only using it for the I Believe intro , a Boss DD-3 Delay and a WahWah-pedal.

I've just got a Martin LX1E, but I've only been playing for about nine months for a bit of fun.
